Using a GeniePoint Network Charger
The information below provides useful information for drivers using the GeniePoint Network:
There are three types of charging options:
*Due to different battery sizes of electric cars, these times may vary. Cold weather conditions can also affect the time it takes to charge.
Rapid AC Chargers offer power ratings of up to 43kW and they can typically charge 80 percent of an electric car’s battery capacity in 20-30 minutes, depending on the on-board charger in the vehicle.
Rapid DC Chargers offer power ratings up to 50kW and can recharge 80 percent of a car’s battery in 20-30 minutes. Rapid DC chargers offer two different connector types, CCS and CHAdeMO, which are commonly found on most full electric vehicles.
Fast Chargers offer power ratings between 7kW-22kW and typically take 1-4 hours for a full charge.
Slow Chargers produce up to 3kW of power which is a similar rate to a standard 13 Amp three-pin plug. They typically take up to 8 hours to charge an electric vehicle.
